Join us for the fourth annual Detroit Street Detour, where Tam O'Neill Fine Arts brings art making to the street during the Cherry Creek Arts Festival. Saturday July 2nd, Sunday July 3rd and Monday July 4th. 10am to 5pm .

Detroit Street Detour will take place rain or shine outdoors on the 300 block of Detroit Street in Denver.  Fun Free and Fab! Printmaking demonstrations, Plein Air painting and Letterpress printing. Make and take activities, hands on demonstrations and a chance to meet the artists and watch them work.

Leon Loughridge will be on hand Saturday July 2nd, Sunday July 3rd and Monday July 4th.  Leon is a master of the reductive woodblock print. Using the simple tools of block, knife, baren and handmade transparent ink, colors are layered one on top of the other on rag paper.  The small editions reflect the serendipity of the method.  Leon shows nationally and we are proud to represent his work in Denver.  Facebook friends will recieve notice of some wonderful collecting opportunities only available at the Detroit Street Detour.

Lorenzo Chavez works both in pastel on paper and plein air oil on panel.  His work is a direct and personal response to the landscape of the west.  Meet Lorenzo Sunday, July 3rd from 9:30 to 11:30.  He will have recent small oils available for purchase and will be demonstrating his painting techniques.

Clyde Steadman paints still life and figurative works and teaches at the Denver Art Students League.  We are happy to welcome Clyde back to the Detroit St. Detour.  Come meet him and watch him painting Sunday July 3rd  from 12-5 and Monday July 4th from 9:30 to 5.

Letter Press artisan Tom Parsons from the Englewood Depot will be back again this year.  Tom is in the process of restoring the historic train depot in Englewood as a living museum to the letterpress printing arts.  Come turn the crank of the press and print your own keepsake!

Lastly, make sure to step into our Cherry Creek Gothic photo booth, grab the three tined hayfork and give us your best Grant Wood face.  Post your photos to #cherrycreekcustomframing to be entered into our contest to win $100 of Denver's best custom framing.
